Hi There,

I am working on my PC most of the day, and always have my headphones on, so it makes only sense that i have a VoIP service. Currently i am using iBurst, and it totally SUCKS, even over my 10mb dsl.

I need to change VoIP providers.

My current line costs me R50pm for the number, and the calls are actually quite cheap on iBurst (they can't exactly charge an arm and a leg for that crappy service)

Are there any other VoIP providers that gives SIP accounts out there? QUALITY IS KEY

Does telkom not offer something like that with their normal voice lines?

I use a nexus sip account on my Samsung galaxy s5 and it works great. I mean it is free. You just pay for calls but nexus to nexus is free.

Why pay R50 per month for rental when you can be using that R50 to make calls. They allow you to choose your preflex too. I have a 031 and 087 number and I have them since 2012.

Call rates are

Cellc,Telkom Mobile and Virgin Mobile : R0.74 per minute
Vodacom and MTN : R0.55 per minute
Telkom Geographic : R0.29 per minute

The only mobile provider that might beat some of the pricing here is Cellc 66c per minute price plan but it does not beat all the pricing so the Nexus VOIP solution is still the best all rounder I think.

Nexus resell Mweb Talk Accounts, maybe better to go directly with Mweb??

And have to deal with mweb directly? Ja, given that getting a VoIP number is free (okay, it carries the (time & effort) costs of calling/emailing them) I'm far happier having an abstraction layer between my sanity and mweb. Also, do mweb do the four sub-numbers off the main account like nexus do?

You have fully control under my account to setup as you please with Mweb. Sub accounts, multiple numbers, call forwarding, etc

I suppose nothing wrong with that too. I just use Nexus Voip because back then when they launched I was able to pick me a decent 031 number which is very very easy.

So I guess going with Mweb makes no difference. They both are the same price wise anyways. I did create a extra 087 number with nexus recently and it was setup very fast. So they are not bad as a reseller.
