I have a Billion 810 VGTX router to which I have a normal analogue phone connected to make VoIP calls

Yesterday I was making a VoIP call and I was cut off during the call. When I tried to make another call there was no dialling tone. I then switched my router off and on a couple of times but still no luck.

I have spoken to my service provider and the SIP profile on the router seems to be correctly configured (I haven't touched the settings in any case after I got cut off the first time). There is also an active ADSL internet connection, so the router can access the internet.

Other feedback I got from my service provider is that they can't see that I am logged on, which means that the router is not sending an IP address through to my service provider.

It sounds like the problem is with my router, but I can't understand why as the ADSL is still working? Has anyone else have this problem before?

Your service provider support should walk you through the steps to resolve this. There are so many things I would suggest you try to eliminate the fault, with the support person on the end of the line.

Are you using a normal analogue phone connected into the back of the modem? If you were cut off mid call it might be that the unit is faulty, or the connection, or the handset. If you suspect a sip registration error, then why not download a softphone like X-Lite to your PC and try to register.

hi

post a screenshot of your voip settings here, it sounds like a mis config...
