Can anyone give me a rough idea of the cost of a VOIP call to the SA cellular network operators? Maybe suggest a few VOIP providers for me?

Also, I'm using a P990i phone and I would like to know if there is any VOIP software i can use in conjunction with one of these packages.

www.yeigo.com .... its free also an im app ... dunno the costs so dont quote me... cell voice is 8kbit/s sampling, so in 60s its 240kbit/s wich equates to 60kbytes in one minute ... as 8bits = 1 byte ...

so if voda is charging R2 per meg ... that is 11c per minute

They currently support: Skype, MSN, SIP, GoogleTalk and ICQ

The rates are the standard VoIP rates that your existing VoIP supplier charges plus you pay your cell provider for the data that the call consumes.
