Outdoor p2mp . There is no other way you will achieve that type of range. Unless you stand on the roof with your device
You don't need one, but access points at least. And the smart way is to have a router nating/firewalled at each house/building.But you still don't need a *router* ?

You can also use tin cans and strings. Not how I would do it either though. You don't need the PBX - the ATA's or IP phones can establish a call to each other directly.

So explain how one would dial from one phone to the other? No need to be facetious. They're looking for a simple phone network not a local PSTN.

IP address dialing? I thought you said simpleIP Address dialing? Manual dial or just create a directory entry and manually enter H323 format or SIP format.

Like I said. It is for a rural farm setting. So a few houses that want communication between them using voice/messaging.This will all depend on the solution, the scope? A PBX system can be used to implement a traditional telephone-like system, but you can do standard VoIP with Mumble and Teamspeak on your own network and still implement a directory through privileges and rooms.
It depends on your needs and why you would want to stay in communication without the need to utilise internet or Telkom so to speak.
Have a look at this: https://villagetelco.org/Like I said. It is for a rural farm setting. So a few houses that want communication between them using voice/messaging.
There network coverage of any kind.
Wouldn’t walkie talkies be better?
Even Bluetooth headsets depending on distances.
