I've just been using skype as it's easy, but i realise it ain't really made for gaming and uses a fair bit of bandwidth & starts to get a bit sucky when more than 3 or 4 ppl are in the convo.

I'm usually chatting to ppl all over europe and within SA, so I'm sure that doesn't help things.

I've heard some good things about Ventrilio ...is it worth a go? And would some1's local connection work well enough as a server?

Just wanna hear your thoughts on the best gaming VOIP client...

i think the proggies called teamspeak

low on bandwidth if i recall correctly...

Well our guild uses Ventrilo, for instances, raiding and general banter while playing. Hiring a server is relatively cheap if you get your guild to chip in.
I recommend www.anvox.com to rent your server from their, service is great and there is hardly any downtime at all. Get a 20 user server from $10 a month, just set it to use a low bandwidth codec. 8)

Cool, thanks Darthmoose. You don't experience any performance issues when local and overseas ppl are connected?
