Voltage Regulator

I have a client who bought a generator.

apparently his lights are flashing with the cycles.

is this a voltage problem, if so does any one know where i can find a voltage regulator. prefably a plug in unit.

Flourescent lights, CFL's or globes?

Is the generator running at the revs that it should? That could affect voltage and frequency. Maybe the generator is overloaded?

Also, if you suspect voltage, check it first with a voltmeter / multimeter.
