Not sure I understand your question but if you are confused between the two options it's not the same thing, read through it again and you will see.
In the first option, that is Solar first, utility will come on if any of the two conditions happen, Solar is not available Or battery voltage drops to the low level warning or the value in program 12.
In SBU utility will come on only if battery drops to low level warning or the value set in program 12. Note the missing part about solar. It means even if you have lost solar the system will continue powering from the battery until it goes low.
I would never recommend the SBU unless you have a massive bank of batteries it just leads to unnecessary cycling of the battery.

The Voltronic King also has the S-U-B ( solar-utility-battery) option same as the VM. Iii, but the manual on the Voltronic website gives the same description as for the SOL option, just wanted to ask a VM iii owner, which one is correct
