Hi Guys

I am desperately looking for a Volume Licence XP CD,
We have valid licences but the CD has disappeared.

Thanks
DD

^^ Good luck with either of those (not trying to sound snotty but imho they won't help you at all).

I'm not sure if this counts as encouraging piracy but here you go.

Check http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/downloads/default.aspx for the required .iso file name and hash (click browse products, "W" for Windows and on the second or third page you will see XP). You are looking for ones suffixed -VL afaik.

Download the required .iso from a torrent/file sharing site site, look for a torrent that seems legit (exact same file name as on MSDN site, positive comments and decent age so it has some feedback) then verify against known hashes from MSDN once downloaded.

If you're key is legit it will work without problems with a "like for like" key and .iso, e.g. VLK disc and VLK key.

Or you could pay for an MSDN subscription and download it from there.

MS has replaced a disk for me(customer's):
XP Pro
client's disk was in 2 pieces. They asked to be sent a pic of the disk & the license.

As the key was undamaged the disk was replaced at a cost of under R100.

Note this was in 2009.

This is a bummer situation as I've got a PC with a licence with a similar situation. I've tried various ISOs (original, OEM, volume disc) and not success.

If its a couple of PCs then your better off subscribing to action pack.

with XP there were various releases. I've found it helps to keep the various disks. You might find you were using XP SP1 disks when the license was release prior to a SP. Then you need a version without any SP.

True and that is where the problem was (your post refreshed my mind). My problem licence is a SP3 XP and I cannot find the disc. Only option from a friend, is to do some sort of hack to the ISO using a generic disc.

This is a problem for me as I always do updates as this PC was intended for a business and we did not have spare cash at that time to buy the OS again - end of day loaded Linux on all 3 of their PCs.

I have volume license goodies.
XP, Office etc.
PM me if you need an ISO.

Got a XP-VL SP2 slipstream ISO on my external,600megs,could dump it to an FTP somewhere
