That attitude is changing, alot of car experts are getting more and more impressed with the quality of the diesel engines being pushed out by the major manufacturers.
Are you looking at a new Volvo or second-hand nabs?
That it is.
Check on the reviews for that model car, and see if someone reviewed the diesel model.
Also check on service intervals, and the cost of a service
You might battle with one of those, unless you stop someone at a shopping centre or something...
Personally, I dislike diesels. They're dirty and they're higher maintenance and potentially less reliable.
nabs : what you can do to increase the power is take it to SACs... but increasing the power in a diesel can be expensive.
Steve Auto Clinic...
don't know much about them, but I know they do work on diesels...
Sorry nabs... well enjoy it. Personally I woulda bought the petrol model, but hey, each to his own.
Personally I wouldn't take the diesel. The 2.4 petrol is pretty economical - my wife is driving one, and you don't get all those "maybe" problems you get with diesel. The 2.4 is around R242k, a good R8k cheaper than the 2.0D. R8k will buy you over 1000 liters of fuel.Anyone own a volvo s40 2.0 diesel?
Just need to know few things before i buy.
Is it value for money,performance,comfort,
Petrol price is killing me.
I do around 200km to 300km a day.
