Vorna Valley ADSL Problems

Over the past few months, I have been having challenges in Chris Barnard Street with regards to a grindingly slow adsl line. No positive response from Telkom. Anybody else with problems?
 
SO this afternoon, I get a call from Telkom, and great stuff. My download speed is 1 meg.

I spoke to the technician and he says, that they are delaying rollout of fast speeds in Vorna Valley. Butttttt he give me some of his bosses email addys and telephone numbers. Lets see if I can get some action out of them to gong forward.
I was hoping to get a few vorna valley residents together to canvas Telkom for better speed in our area. Any takers to join?
 
Which exchange are you connecting to?

I'm in Dornel Rd, connect to exchange near Boulders.

Been struggling with Telkom for ages regarding speeds.
They say max the exchange can support is 4Mbps, they couldn't even give me 2Mbps, until several faults logged and eventually getting them to change port.

I would be keen to join you to see if we can get better speeds
 
Recent events by the Vorna Valley residents association show them engaging with Fibre to the Home service providers.

They need 30% of the residents to be interested to make it viable.
 
One of the challenges with going the Greencom route, may result in the consumer being locked into the service provider for connection as well as ISP. That may not be the most ideal from a cost and competition perspective.
