--Give a short explanation of the problem
I was told by Telkom that I could get max a 2Mbps line, which I duly got. I'm lucky to get 200 Kb/s.

I've been told that we are too far from the exchange. We're in the middle of a relatively dense suburb on Chris Barnard Street, to the West of the Highway and close to Allandale and Kyalami.
When the technician was setting everything up and had to take a trip to the exchange, he had to go all the way to the boulders shopping centre on the far side of the highway.
I don't understand why there aren't more exchanges to service the greater Midrand area.
Other residents in my street are complaining as well. One bloke was given a 4Mbps line :)confused:) and he gets about 400kb/s.

--Give the first six digits of our phone number (like 011 425 xxxx)
011312....

--ADSL line speed (like 1Mbps, 4Mbps etc)
2Mbps

--ISP name and account type (like MWEB uncapped)
Telkom, 50GB capped

--The time of day when you typically see these problems
Its either slow, or offline, but reading other forum posts, it seems that the offline is due to cable theft. Slow is the norm.

I'm about to cancel the thing now, I now have CellC with an antenna pointed at Waterfall, I get > 6Mbps :D, but obviously it costs more...
