Would it be possible for myBB to create a survey on the home page; which would rate the various ISPs.
I'm not sure whether a similar survey has been conducted however, I think this might be a good idea to gauge what the best products are out there in the market ; especially considering that there are plenty out there.
It also gives existing consumers an idea of the value of their current ADSL connection; and whether they are getting their monies worth, or if they can do better.
I'm not a huge fan of speed tests. Whilst it does give an idea of how fast a line is, there are a few limitations:
- a fast line does not necessarily mean a good service if the ISP provides sub-standard customer care
- a speed test is an indication of how fast the line is at a point in time; and not over continuous periods of time
This can comprise of the following fields:
a) name of ISP
b) type of product (i.e uncapped or capped)
c) speed of line (1,2,4 or 10mbps)
d) cost
1. affordability
2. quality of line (example, I have a 1mb business uncapped line but the performance is horrific)
3. customer care service (do you receive timely responses? are these responses to your satisfaction?)
4. any other questions
Fields a)-d) can be manually inputted by the survey participants
The above questions can be graded on a scale of 1-5 (1 being poor and 5 being excellent); and can be in a multiple choice format.
The above is just a rough idea of what the survey should look like.
If someone (or one of the admins) can create something like this, it will be highly informative
