Vote, or keep quiet

Indeed. I am ashamed to say that I used to be one of those people that would go "ag, what difference will my one vote make anyway"....well, screw that! I am gonna vote and who knows...I might just draw a f you sign next to the ANC logo on my ballot! lol hehehehe.

I just hope I am not the only one that have woken up and who will be voting. It is time that we take the country back from the ANC and put our beloved country in the hands of a capable administration. Yes, this might only be local elections...but it is still very important...some say even more important than the nationals....but the more ground the ANC loses in the locals, the stronger the foothold for the DA!

Sheesh...I am sounding like a political activist! lol. Will stay quiet now. :-)

Well done ocleroux.
A mighty river starts with one drop of water.

Registered. And it was so flippen easy and quick. Made sure I was there @ 8 sharp. I was the only person there...just filled in a form, they scanned my ID and that was that. tjoef tjaf.

Hope the actual voting is just as quick and painles. FCK YOU ANC!!!!!!!! BLEH!

Tjoef, tjaf ... broekies af! :D

Do you have to register again if you've already voted in the previous election

Best to check to be sure.
It seems they're being stricter with which station you vote at based on where you live as well.
Remember that if you've moved since then, you will have to re-register in your current area.

OK great!!!! I have been voting since I was able to, now I find I have to re-register b'coz someone changed the ward borders where I live... thank you for telling me this sooner.

Can one go register at any of the municipal offices? Because there is one down the road from where I work or does it have to be the one where I live?

I heard on 702 today that you can register any day of the week at municipalities. The IEC will have offices there where you can go register. You might just have to tell them where your ward is. If you look up your address on the IEC website it will show you what your ward number is.

Well I think they've needed to do that since it seems that the IEC has been moving ward boundaries around without telling anyone.

Lol, you think all those protests are in the name of democracy?
They are being inspired by a fanatical group

It's fanatics that have dismantled dictatorships and brought democracy to other countries. Dictatorships are seldom brought down by being nice ;)

inactive, lazy, fat-ass, bored, dumb non-voters are a big part of the problem in this country. Get with the program or get out.

couldn't agree more.

I asked a colleague today if he registered and he said no he forgot! told him to go to the municipal office, and then he gave some more excuses. I wish these morons could just register and vote!! It took me less than 2minutes to re-register on Saturday ffs.

Congratulations to all the misguided fools who really believe that their vote is going to halt SA's slide down the slope to destruction. The only thing you accomplish by casting your vote, is to legitimise our "democratic" one-party state in the eyes of the world - and the only party that benefits from that legitimacy is the ANC.

So when you're registering and casting your vote, remember this: any vote you cast is, effectively, a vote for the ANC.

You do realise the difference between a municipal election and a national election right? Some wards have as little as 200 people showing up to vote. If you can find 201 people to vote for your party in your area, then you win....simple. How do you think the DA did it? By getting millions and millions of votes? No. Once your party wins, then your water, lights, roads etc etc are their responsibility (in your area/ward).

"Misguided fools"....interesting
