Hey everyone

My household is currently on a vox fatpipe capped 100/10mbps account with a 300gb cap.

We are currently burning through our cap as well and our banked data from previous months.

We are considering moving to an uncapped option at the same speed but are just weary of shaping/throttling and the effect of a worse contention ratio.

From discussions with Vox's sales department, fibrehoods (our current provider) is true uncapped and therefore there shouldn't be any shaping or throttling.

Any experiences or recommendations as the top up prices for fatpipe data on the capped account are very expensive

Fibrehoods is Vumatel Aerial if I'm not mistaken.

As for capped vs uncapped the capped pnly really makes sense on Openserve fibre network as Openserve IPC is expensive so service providers like Vox has to be harsh on the shaping to avoid congestion so capped is nice way to get full speed on the line no matter the time.

If you are on any other fibre cable provider then capped just does not make sense at all as they are significantly cheaper than Openserve and the uncapped will usually be uncapped, unthrottled and unshaped. Honestly you should have been on the uncapped a long time ago. I guess you can always go back if it's not working for you and obviously switching ISP's is also an option.
