I recently moved to Vox and made it quite clear I did not intend moving my line, as I am quite happy to deal with Telkom and prefer not to be locked to an ISP. Received this email today. Maybe I am being over sensitive but it seems a bit strong arm to me.

Good day,

It has come our attention that you have not yet transferred your line to Vox Telecom, meaning your services are split.

Would you confirm the following in order for me to rectify?

Telkom Account Holder name :
Telkom Telephone number :
Current ADSL line speed :
I will supply you with your reference number via email.

Note that the line remains Telkom’s, we only transfer ADSL line portion billing, thus after the line has been transferred Telkom should no longer charge you for DSL (package will remain on your account with zero billing @ Telkom)

ADSL line options-

1. ADSL line 1024k speed @ R165.00pm no set up fee

2. ADSL line 2048k speed @ R299.00pm no set up fee

3. ADSL line 4096k speed @ R425.00pm no set up fee

Any additional info please do not hesitate to reply or contact Catherine on 087 805 0003 sales division

Kind Regards,

I received exactly the same mail a few weeks ago, when I cancelled one service with them, but kept another.

This is the gist of my ''strong-armed" reply back to them, in the hope they'll review the format of this email, and change their wording :

Never even assume that I want to transfer my (ADSL) line over to you, or any other ISP, because that will NEVER happen - the ADSL line, along with telephone line, will ALWAYS remain with Telkom, as I use MULTIPLE ISPs, so will NEVER consider moving either/both over to VOX or any other ISP.

Therefore, the info. below will not be made available to you.
I'll only ever pay you (or other ISPs) for the use of data.
