Vox + MetroFibre Router question

Hi guys,

I'm trying to change a friend's router for him from the standard one provided by Vox to a Unifi Security Gateway.

So far we've not had much luck.

Anyone know the procedure with Vox to change the router? Do we phone their support to authenticate the new device?

(The current setup is a Callix ONT + Mikrotik router - We're keeping the ONT obviously, just want to change the router)

Can the Unifi's MAC address be changed / cloned? If it can, set it the same as the Mikrotik's MAC address and it should work.

OK... that is an option... (Yes it can spoof the WAN mac address).

Other comments welcome... Can anyone confirm that Vox authenticates on the mac address?

I am on VOX and did the same. They lock it to the MAC address.

You can always phone them and ask them to release the MAC address and then whatever is plugged in next will get locked to the account again.
