Vox Netflix and Hulu problems

Hey guys,

Just thought i'd check if the problem i'm experiencing is unique and/or whether anyone has a solution to it. Currently using unlocator to stream netflix and hulu.

Streaming performance has huge variances: Youtube pretty much maxes line speed continuously
Netflix stream alright. Have actually seen a slightly improvement. Usually around 50% of line speed
Hulu is terrible though. Unless i adjust the streaming setting to 650kb/s on the app i get constant buffering.

Any idea why? Both are international severs etc so not sure why this should be the case

I never see max line speed on my capped vox account. I used to, now I think their service is degrading. Maybe too many subscribers. My vox account used to be superb, now I may as well have a 10meg line, seeing as I never see 20 anymore.
 
I'm on a 4Mbps Vox capped account and not having any issues with Netflix buffering. I'm using the 'Hola' firefox plugin to fudge my location though. Not sure what the quality setting of Netflix is but it looks 720p'ish.

Try run some Speedtests to see what your international performance is like and maybe even try PingPlotter for a few hours to see what your latency looks like over a period of time. I'm not saying it's not VOX's fault but there are a number of factors that could cause this.

Maybe try streaming using a free 1GB capped account from another provider like WebAfrica and compare performance?
 
No problems with Hulu and Netflix over VOX on my side. Even NETFLIX 4k content streaming is always good.
Maybe check your DNS provider , test with another sometimes the DNS servers limit the bandwidth , I use UNLOCATOR.
 
Experiencing the same issues with Vox - it must be my vox account because when I run out of capped data I buy Afrihost data. That account outperforms my Vox account by far.
 
Netflix buffers on Vox , starts right away on Afrihost R1 thing they doing.
 
I can confirm Hulu performance i bad on VOX, netflix is fine.

I am comparing VOX, AH and TI.
