Vox Phone

So I'm thinking of getting a Vox phone. Let me tell you why.

1. They have really cheap outgoing calls to landlines and mobiles.
2. You get money back for receiving call on it.

Now I read some time back that people said that you person calling you get charged sooo much extra for dialing that 087 vox numbers.

So I did a test. I called from a MTN prepaid sim that is on MTN Zone. When i called I had 70% discount to other networks.

I was connected to a vox number for 1 minute exactly and it only charged me R0.90 which is what I would have paid if I called cellc or Vodacom too.

So I don't see that calling a 087 number you get charged a 'premium rate'. I haven't tested it on telkom as yet but I suspect that it might be higher than land line rates but relatively the same as a mobile call.

I received a call from vox the other day. they want me to test it and only pay the R49 monthly subscription and calls. They say If I signup they waive the setup costs and get the phone free.

So I will check out everything carefully before signing up. But so far it actually looking good. With mobile rates of just over R1 is seems that all and all its a good deal. I know the mybb community hates vox but it looks like a deal.
