help!

i depseratley need to setup port forwarding on a clients site for the access to the DVR(remote view cctv)

I need to port forward an incoming dyndns type connection to the DVR on the network.

problem: the Vox router is very different and cannot figure out where to port forward to a device on the network.

I would really give VOX tech support a call, I had some brilliant help from them before to do quite a complicated setup of the router. Good luck though.

Perhaps the port forwarding on the Vox Supafone is exactly like the Thomson/Alcatel TG782T: http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Thomson-Alcatel/TG782T/Apache.htm
I saw on the VoX supafone manual that the phone was branded Thomsom and the web interface looked similar to that specific Thomson model.

If you can't manage to get the information from the Vox support, then I guess you'll have to make an outgoing VPN connection which won't require any port forwarding. If you want to connect from any host, then you should use a service like Hamachi where you don't need to know the real destination IP address since you connect to a channel name.

the supafone (gigaset) is not a router but the old adsl phone (thomson) from vox is

telnet into the thomson router 192.168.1.254
user name is : Administratior
pass: no pass

that might be able to help you
:)

VOX is very expensive for what it is: They still compare their service to Telkom and local Cellular providers...

Best solution I found was: Purchase a Linksys SPA2102 (R 725.00 including delivery from PCMall) + Rynga = great savings; i.e 120 Free days (free calls to most countries' landline numbers, including South Africa @ R 100 every third month, [therefore R 50 per month]) and you can add your FNB Connect / VOX number as well, and utilise any analog phone and no contracts are needed.
