can anyone tell me, if the 1 gig gets finished does the data stop immediately or does it run over?

By default it goes over to 10GB which you get charged for. You need to set it to 0.

Login to your account on Voxtelecom.co.za then go to your Service Summary Page followed by your G4G account to which you will see the below info then follow the steps.
