I am moving ISP and would like some advise. Our household does a lot of netflix and hulu streaming. I am looking at getting the 150+150gb afrihost capped account to use during the day. In the evenings I will switch over to vox uncapped from either 6pm or midnight. I do download from 12 normally.

My question is whether vox uncapped bolton can handle netflix and hulu decently after 6pm? Otherwise I'll keep capped afrihost running till 12pm.

Yeah it works well. I'm on a 4MB line using the bolt-on and I watch Netflix and stream media through Kodi daily. Have a bit of lag through Kodi every now and then but mostly no problems.

Awesome. Thanks for the reply. Now I just need to configure my mikrotik router to automatically switch over and I'm set!

I don't stream very often but when I do it's hassle free on my 10Mb line. I have however seen a few problems from people in the Western Cape so I would suggest you chat to the guys in the Vox thread if you are based down that way before making up your mind.

From my experience Vox has been fantastic and I would absolutely recommend them if you want a good quality ISP.

I'm in CT, Blouberg area. I use Vox bolt-on every night to stream Netflix. I have a 4mb line and have no issues. Great service.

Remember that bolt-on is rate limited to 10mb

Thanks everyone. Very helpful. Will go for it. If it doesnt work out its not a lot of cash to lose. Cheers

I've just had the bolt-on for 3 or 4 days, but youtube and netflix have been perfect. YouTube seems to download at 10.5mbps, which is in line with their policy of capping speeds at 10mbps, even though my line is 20mbps. It's really been excellent, all times of day. Even streaming the rugby on Saturday was hitch-free.

I couldn't be happier with bolt-on. Been using it for about 2 months now and haven't had a single issue yet.

My only issue is...why can I not have this bolted onto my 100Gb FP. I spent enough money on my shiny ASUS router, that I don't want to set it to bridge mode and control my accounts through one of my mikrotik routers...just seems like a waste.

maybe VOX can come up with some clever way we can get this done? bolt-on to any FP?

Well...I do have extra mikrotik routers lying around which I could use for this...but I spent so much money on my ASUS router that I kinda don't want to go that route. In a perfect world I would much rather have the option to choose to which account I want my bolt-on to be linked to...

one day maybe :D
