Hi

I am looking at a VOIP solution since telkom cut our copper line. I have tried Telkom's FLLA - or rather router and old fashioned phone solution and the quality is not great. I get a Vox VOIP Number free, but using the VOBI app the call quality is awful.

So the question is:

1. Does anyone else experience awful quality on the Vobi Softfone app?
2. Would a physical phone be better - is anyone using the VOIP with Vox - physical phone and getting as good quality as the good old Telkom phones?

Please help

Vobi is not the best but their supafones does a better job

Thanks guys, appreciate the replies. Vobi just drops out too often. I assume it will make little difference on the brand of physical phone? I found this which looks feature rich and affordable...

I assume you are using it home with fibre?

Yes, with fibre.

I'm using a Gigaset (the old Siemens) handset with base station, works fine.

The most significant influence on VoIP is a connectivity solution that provides proper QoS. The phones that interoperate the best are the Yealinks.
Any comments on the device link I posted? It says it has QoS. How good it is compared to yealink I don't know.

Just a comment, the Gigaset phones are easier to set up with Vox, mainly because they cater for a setup string that Vox provides.

It is a bit more difficult to get the other phones set up.

Hi
Just installed the Fanvil X3SP and the voice quality is much better for us than the telkom line we ported from. Using switchtel.
