So I've got a VPN (PIA) but don't really consistently make use of it since I don't do anything *that* dodgy really. So the aim is to keep tracking & privacy in check rather than escaping law enforcement. Don't particularly have anything to hide from law enforcement.

The latest UK developments on this front "we're going to track fkin everything" is making me re-evaluate my stance though. This rubs me in a wrong way out of principle.

Curious who here runs a VPN 24/7 for personal use. My work stuff is VPN'd anyway...curious how feasible personal side is. I know mybb throw extra security challenges for example. And another site recently locked me out because I was jumping geo regions to often (yay vpn).

So curious whether anyone is running a vpn successfully.

I have 5 devices 24/7 on VPN, use it to get around region restrictions and that I have a private IP assigned with which I do other activities. It is also essential, in my case, to have proper streaming. When I connect to a local node it even resolves some SS issues that I experience. Google services are also more accessible which I use 24/7. You do have to disconnect when you want to game.

wut? You OK bro?
I said, I run one 24/7.

A mybb user assisted me setting it up.

The VPN however is local thus bandwidth costs a fortune because a VPN uses twice what you use.

For every 1Gb that you download the VPN uses 2Gb.

If for privacy, I would suggest you run your own server and configure the security yourself. These public VPN providers are possibly the worst thing you could ever do for your online privacy. You essential give them complete trust over your data, they often pay for good reviews at prominent internet media websites and are a spot where all those kiddo "hackers" run their illegal activities so the VPN's servers are under constant interception from law enforcement which, even though you have nothing to hide, is just a bad idea in general.

Paranoid about being tracked? NSA can break 20 VPN's keys an hour. And all throughput is pretty much TCPcapped
