VPN connection over VirginMobile EDGE connection

I struggle to connect to any VPN networks via my VirginMobile EDGE connection.

Currently using the default APN (vdata). Anyone know of a similar solution like VodaCom that has implemented a different APN for direct access (public IP)?

As far as I know (I have asked this question before) Virgin does not support VPN connections yet. Only Vodacom and MTN at the moment.

Yeah, I couldn't make any outgoing VPN connections on Virgin when I was still using them a few months ago.

And using L2TP protocol instead of PPTP?

Me too, this was one of the reasons I had to give up on VM. They never did respond to my queries regarding outgoing VPN connections.
