Guys, do you know whether there's a company that sells a VPN type offering to use to get better pings?

The pings on my existing connection (AllYouCanEat) are a bit naf, but the rest of the connection is great. So, I'm just looking for somewhere that I can get something like a VPN connection to better those pings.

Thanks.

The costs of setting up a decent VPN are way to expensive at the moment. Firstly you would need a diginet line. These come in increments of 64kb up/64kb down and cost R1,340pm per 64kb. This connection is uncapped and unshapped and pings will range from 250-400ms with NO packet loss. If you wondering you will download at a maximum of 8KBs but more likely to be 6.4KBs from experience. This 64kb connection unfortunately is not enough for WOW (Maybe solo PVE) and you can see that a true VPN option will cost way to much. So dont get caught out. Also for low latency ISDN is the way to go.

Aaaah! I remember that! I used to use it a long time ago, when I was still on Twilight's Hammer! Ha!

Thanks Vampir0! You're the man!

I tried the it24.co.za trail and it was worse than my 3g.

Well what connection did you use to VPN through it? Your 3G?

If they're using ADSL or Diginet, the termination from your 3G account to their line via Telkom would add to the ping, not reduce it. So using 3G outright would be more beneficial.

However, if you're on ADSL and connecting with SAIX to their Diginet (or if they use IS, an IS account) and eliminate the termination/switching. Your ping should be consistent, lower and more stable
