Hi everyone,

is there any way to make IBurst not shape it's packets or make is faster. I connect to a VPN (PPTP) at my office through a Asus Wireless router which is connected to my desktop IBurst modem. It connects just fine, but it is terribly slow!!!!!

I cannot do a remote desktop or view files on a linux server. Any way I can change settings on my side. My MTU is set to 576, but still no luck.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi, and welcome. To your problem, *where* have you got MTU set to 576? Also, with a bit of RTFM (click on Networking, it's hidden until you click) you see what should help you but, seeing as this is your first time:
You can network your iBurst modem, but ensure you do this via a broadband router with a MTU setting of 1324 (VPN usage) or 1352.

Im an Iburst reseller and its critical to adjust your MTU to 1324 (VPN) or 1352.

I have tried both 1324 and 1352 MTU settings on my Asus router, but still no luck. I will try to make some settings on my server, it is a Linux server running pptp.

I see alot of clients who make the same mistake.

The MTU on the iBurst network in CTN is irrelavant... On some towers changing the MTU, so as to ensure faster browsing, disables MSN and other applications.

Then again it's iBurst where consistancy is a word that only exists in a dictionary...

have you double checked that your firewall or routing on the router isn't blocking or causing some port forwarding?
