Hi guys

Following on from the 'has everyone deserted iburst' thread, can someone please enlighten me on the above i.e. what hardware do I need and how do I set up?

Thank you in advance :)

Explore: http://openvpn.net/

Shout if you need help, currently utilising it on iBurst network "without" issues...
- that may not have been directed at me but .."YO!" /shout :o

Or, more plainly: if you would help with helping me VPN-ify a connection through a WRT54G router so I can see the server while out and about with a WinXP notebook, that would be a HUGE bonus!

Is that a vanilla WRT, or has it been transformed via OpenWRT/DD-WRT etc.?

The reason for my question is that I am using DD-WRT on my WRT54GL (Basically a WRT54G v1.1), and the VPN (EDIT: That would be OpenVPN) is hosted by the router firmware.

*choke* 'vanilla'?! Heh, the only way I do vanilla is in my ice-cream ..I suspect you've missed seeing all the posts I've done evangelising DD-WRT on WaRTs? Nah boet, I've been doing DD-WRT for years now, mostly I use the v24 standard version (as opposed to VPN or VoIP editions), tho' I'm wondering if, in this case, the VPN version really would be better.

actually the *GL1/1.1 is the rebadged G v4 series, IIRC ..but we're not here to nitpick about this. ;)

..so that's the VPN edition then?

Anyhow, it's a piece of cake to flash the router: it's having the VPN (and, I suspect, dyndns stuff) setup to allow auth. and access to the network that I'm interested in getting right ..and with which I'm not entirely confident. :o
