VPN Lite

Hey guys.

I wonder if anyone can assist me.

Im not new to networking but Im new to VPN lite.

Question is:

I need to setup VPN lite for a friend of mine. They have Netgear DG 384 routers.

Will this work for VPN lite (taking into consideration that they use these routers on each end for general internet.

From my understanding you should have a router that can do multiple sessions if you want to use it for internet and VPN lite at the same time.

Am i on the right track here ??

The Netgear seems to only have 1 option for a WAN connection either Internet or VPN lite connection ??

Hi

You are are correct. Telkom sells routers, Billion & Netgear with custom firmware for multiple sessions. I have not seen another router that can do this. They sell for about R900. Don't take any other router if you buy from them as they are crap. I'm using a billion 400G with VPN light and it works quite well. Easy to setup if you follow their manual. Using the 10Gig VPN. You can add up to 20 sites yourself on the website.

Hi Guys,

Just wondering if you came alrite with configuring VPN lite onto the Netgear DG834G v5?I am currently trying to connect to it from one of my sites. I can ping it from this side including all the Pc's in its Lan, but i cannot ping the WAN IP or even the router from the site where the Netgear DG834G is connected.It looks like it only works one sided.pinging and tracerouting from this side where im sitting,everything looks perfect and yet pinging to where im sitting from the origin where Netgear is connected seems not to work.
