Is there a way to install a VPN app on a Samsung smart TV, to then allow you to watch geo-restricted content, or do you have to set up a VPN on the router?

You need an Apple or Google TV box for that. Else as noted use a smart DNS service and add the DNS address on the TV.I have tried searching the stupid App Store on the TV, but seemingly no VPN apps come up. I use both Windscribe and NordVPN, and I can easily switch them on or off on my Mac or my iPad, and this lets me access the shows I want, but then I can’t cast to the TV, because its “not on the same WiFi network”
So I thought it would be easy enough to install the VPN apps directly on the TV and then I can just use the native apps on the TV, but if I search on the TV, only YouTube videos come up…no apps for any VPN service

I did this on a Chromecast, you need to have Google TV on the TV its self.I have tried searching the stupid App Store on the TV, but seemingly no VPN apps come up.
