Welcome to our guide list for the Marconi Telkom-Adsl. Please select the program you are forwarding ports for from the list below. If you encounter any errors in our guides, please let us know by using our Comments page.

If you do not see the program you are forwarding ports for, be sure to visit our Default Guide for this router

Your external IP address is 196.25.0.0.

Afaik u cant actually set up a VPN internally in that router(I could be wrong). you would have to set it up as per usual through windows. The only prob with Running a VPN server on an uncapped line is the dynamic IP problem, its going to change daily, or everytime your connection gets reset...

.....

Thanks.... I am setting it up through window server 2000. The client also has windows 2000 pro. On the client side what do I put in for the Host name or IP address of the destination. How can I get around of the dynamic ip.

Have a look at a product called Hamachi - http://www.hamachi.cc/. It may be your solution.

I haven't used it extensively, but I have set up a VPN between myself (MyWireless, Dynamic IP, Smoothwall Firewall) and a friend in the UK (ADSL, Dyn. IP, Zonealarm - i think), and it worked a treat.

Thanks.... before i go ahead & look for other solutions. I just need to know a little more on VPN. If a router has two ip address. One internal one external. The external ip address is dynamic by the Provider that provides the ADSL (Telkom) or the ISP (Internet Solutions)? To connect to the router in VPN I must put the router's external ip address on the client side as the destination. Is that correct?

get ur IP registered with www.dyndns.org. you can give it a name like a normal website, then u don't have to go typing the new IP all the time, just type the name of your "site".
