I have two PCs working from same location using same ADSL connection.

First PC is using LINUX and must be connected by VPN to office in the other part of SA.
Second PC is using WIN7 and there is no specific requirements for it.

According to people that set-up VPN all traffic from LINUX and WIN7 machine must go through VPN to the "other" office where LINUX is connected and only than can be routed outside?

Is there any option to connect only Linux PC to "other" office through VPN and use Win7 PC as it is currently? I have Netgear ADSL modem and only one ADSL connection.

This isn't entirely true. It largely depends on how the vpn is configured. I normally setup vpns between branches for clients using a linux firewall solution, this is then set that only vpn traffic goes through the vpn, all other traffic - i.e. web browsing, emails, etc. - goes through the local modem.

However many companies set it up so that all traffic goes through the vpn, sometimes due to lack of knowledge on the technician's side, but usually due to company policies. By routing all traffic through the vpn the company can block websites, monitor usage and such.

Unfortunatley to give you advice on how to connect just the linux pc is difficult without knowing what type of vpn and how the vpn server has been configured. The best will be to speak to the IT technicians at the office for how to vpn from a linux box. Don't even mention the win7 pc and don't go for doing it via the netgear (this could force all pcs to route via vpn).
