what recommendations can you guys make for a VPN solution for WoW. I was playing yesternight on the EU servers and the latency went from 700 - 900 to 1600 - 3000 after about 22:00. Not what I was expecting to be honest.

are these free VPN's still up and running?

or should I just go for an unshaped Imaginet account (their prices seem fair).

I was also getting horrible ping results from google.com last night at that time. I sent around 500 packets and got 25% packet loss, and after I restarted my router I sent about 300 packets of which 24% was lost.

The international links appeared to be having a couple of problems last night, this is probably what caused your higher latency. Unshaped accounts do reduce latency, but to be honest they are not truely unshaped and ingame latency does not appear to reduce that much. I have setup a kind of VPN solution for myself to Us server which gives me an ingame latency of 450-550ms (shaped) and 330-400ms (unshaped)... Without this VPN solution I got about 630-900ms on unshaped accounts

PayVPN

Hi, I am currently using Nukecap's PayVPN, which costs R60 a month. Best I get is about 500ms, worst I get is about mid 800's. I think with Unshaped you will get better times, but only slightly, so I think the R60 is very well spent.

I must be lucky I have not seen the high 900ms yet. I have a SAIx account on a 192K line. I avarage between 500-600ms and my ingame indicator is yellow for long periods of time.

Oh yes I play on the UK servers...

Great game guys..

Cheers
