VPS Plus Email Help Needed

@Drzoid,

Have you had this error?

I uploaded the Sendy files, added the sql settings in
Code:
/include/config.php
i then went to
Code:
mydomain.com/sendy
, but I then get a 404 error, if I go to just
Code:
mydomain.com
I get a 500 internal server error.

I have checked and "AllowOverride All" is active.

Sounds like Apache cannot find your files. Where are the flies located?

I'm assuming you have Apache, PHP and MySQL all installed.

Jip got all three, that's what I also thought, but when I upload a normal bootstrap template it displays perfectly.

The files are in /home/sitename/public_html/

At least the domain works! Finally :) so I am making progress :)

These are the installed modules on apache if that helps:

SSH into the VPS.

type: tail -f /usr/local/apache/logs/error_log

this will "tail" the log file, go to your site to invoke a 500 internal error, copy the output to me in a PM and I'll try and help you.

To exit the tail afterwards, press Ctrl+C

(this assuming you running cpanel?)

If not, then tail -f /var/log/httpd/error_log or tail -f /var/log/apache/error_log

Sweet man I will do that when I get back. I am running cantos 6 and Centos CWP

The Irony that you could have just setup ISPCONFIG with Mailman and its all free.... other than the VPS obviously... :)

Free doesn't mean good. Mailman is definitely not something I'd recommend to a Linux novice, in fact I wouldn't use it unless I was forced to.

For a free alternative I'd recommend something like CiviCRM, it's a fully fledged CRM system also but the mailing list functionality is quite extensive. Still has a steepish learning curve though.

You can be a windows layman and use a ISPCONFIG Wiki... Else dont even use a toaster.

I also prefer not to have to worry about keeping my servers off blacklists. I will gladly pay Amazon 10c per 1000 mails and just use their servers.
