So just watched the intro for Gone and it looks pretty good.
Anyone watched any of it as yet?

While playing games and watching 360-degree videos in virtual reality is fun, the medium is so powerfully immersive that it seems to beg for something more compelling; something that goes beyond just VR versions of existing content. Gear vr. Not sure if viewable with anything else except maybe oculus

Have you guys noticed how these shows / videos look like "layered" 3D and not true 3D? Almost as if there are flat 2D planes layered in 3D space. Very distracting.

Google cardboard is atrocious and a gimmick at best.

I see Geeko make a controller and vr combo thing as well but don't think they work with oculus store

I watched the first episode last night. It looks pretty good. I watched it a few times looking at different views for longer periods.
I need better earphones though. The ones that came with the phone keep falling out when I move my head around.

Lol they take a bit of getting used to, I eventually found the trick, you will to.

Glad they are surround earphones .
I didn't notice till one of the vr things, only then did I take a look at them and notice the extra speakers.

Also, you can't watch them if the phone is offline. Drm I guess.
