I have a day to burn and always wanted to go and see The Vrededort dome impact site. This stuff fascinates me no end.... Seeing as I am less than 50km away, I was going to take a drive to Parys and have a look see...

Has anyone else been?
Is it worth the visit?
Is Google Earth's view just as good as being there?
Anything else that I should go and look at whilst in the hood!

:erm:

I don't think there's much to do there, but I used to ride my bike through there on weekends. There are some nice views to be had from the road and you could probably drive through the main road area in an hour or two

Hi Moose, yes I have, it is worth the visit, try and go when they have the group hike through the bush.
Some pretty views and hiking trails

I love the bottled water from there. usually I can't taste the difference, but Koepel water tastes great.

Thanks for the feedback, I had issues yesterday that were meant to be solved the day before, so sadly never made it and now the time has come for me to head west to the Augrabie Falls....

I for one would not have had to seen anything touristy, but to have stood there in utter awe as to what occured here.... Incredible, have added to my bucket list..
