Morning Afrihost Team,
My father rents a flat out and he makes the internet part of the rental so he has a Vuma Aerial connection in the flat. It currently has a DLINK DIR-825 but the WiFi switches on and off when it feels like it.
Contacted support through the Clientzone to request support on the router but it is out of warranty so would need to purchase a new one from Afrihost or just purchase something else and use it.
Here is the question now as memory tells me that Vuma Trenched is DHCP and Vuma Aerial is PPPOE. Logged into the DLINK it it shows it in PPPOE mode with TR069 settings applied as well. Support is telling me that the Vuma Aerial connection is DHCP but the DLINK router is very much in PPPOE mode and not DHCP mode. Also the Afrihost guest account is in the PPPOE settings and not my dads username and password.
For my sanity can you confirm if I can try DHCP mode as support is telling me to do or is it supposed to be PPPOE for Vuma Aerials because the Clientzone is giving me the username and offering to let me reset the password and tells me it will propagate in 30 mins, telling me the TR069 likely sends the new password to the router?
Thanks!
