No service since 24 August. Received 2 tickets from vuma already, but no repairs forthcoming. ISP queried, not helping.

Vote with your wallet and cancel.

Make it very clear that it was due to lack of service on their part and don't do any further payments.

LTE/5G should hold you in the meantime, although that is not ideal when you are used to the stability of fiber.

It looks like sabotage from a rival contractor by the way.

Jury rig the connection from the box to your house only.

Who tf does this anyway?

1. OP is an ahole to his neighbours.
2. OP complained to his neighbours because they being aholes.
3. Construction mafia.

Thanx, yes 4g+lte router with ethernet is keeping it together in the meantime.
I think it was vandalised by "tikkop" hoping there will be copper wires inside.

2 weeks later & the first sign of progress. Isp, mweb, sent notice that vuma's maintenance team was assigned.

Cancel, and then what? Will they repair this when there's no urgency from the customer?

Also, what about this looks like sabotage by a rival contractor?

Sabotage, I think someone is over thinking that.
Yesterday I learnt from a friend employed in the security industry that the circular spiral sign painted on the wall close to the box is a sign that internet access to alarm & security cameras are disabled. I believe this is gangsters trying to compromise home security systems. Glad my alarm system uses radio signal.

Looks like the fibre has been cut, also you can't just sellotape it up, signal integrity isn't jerryrig-able.
Repaired at our own cost by a reliable optic fibre contractor in our area. Took so long to find this guy unfortunately. Not sure what incompetent vumatel's reaction is going to be, but I will defend this guy all the way.

It's unlikely that alarm systems use fixed line Internet for primary connectivity. Cameras probably yes.

Please post a Pic of the emblem on the wall ,by us we get stones ,plastic bottles placed in the road and different colored threads tied in bushes outside or on the gate or fence .

I doubt these mean much.

I've seen many hours of housebreak footage and other than the odd hobo ripping off a brass tap or some fixture, the criminals are often smartly dressed and arrive in a high end car (likely hijacked)

It's unlikely that they don't use cellphones to distribute information about possible targets.

Marking on wall close to where connection box was mounted. Repaired & moved to inside of wall.
