Hey All,

I need your help please -I know there have been a few topics o this, but I am still a bit unclear on what I need to do:

I would like to change my colleagues router (they have a large house and a junk freebie router) and with working from home are really struggling with there Video Calls. I have identified the router being the bottle neck, having done quite a few tests and will utilise my own Mesh Network as a Proof before asking them to pull the trigger on a new router.

Details:
ISP: Afrihost
Fibre Network: Vuma
ONT: Raycore

I need help on what do I need to do to get a new Router working (Im on Openserve hence me checking):
- Do they need to get their username and password from Afrihost?
- What settings do I need my Router to be on (I read about DHCP)
- any other changes?

They will get all the relevant info before I head over, just making sure Im getting the right info.

Thank you.

If it's Vuma trenched fibre, it's active ethernet and you can just set your WAN to get an address from DHCP, no username or password needed.

Many thanks, so I will just set my router to the DHCP setting and no other info, sounds easy enough.

what If nots not trenched fibre?

Just have the WAn setting as DHCP/Dynamic IPv4 and you will be sorted.
