Hi

Vumatel are starting to plan to install fibre into our area. I was just wondering what there after install support was like. So for example have had fibre running for a month or so then have a problem. How good is the support from Vumatel. If you look on Hellopeter it does not look good for them?

You raise it with your ISP, and it's down to how well they manage Vuma.

Using Hellopeter for a benchmark isn't really a good idea.

Have you ever taken the time to review a business on hellopeter when they gave you good service? I know that I haven't. There's a inherent bias to a website like that, as it only really invites complaints. Even if the complaint has merit, there are normally two sides to a story. You only get to see one.

I've had nothing but great service from both Openserve & Vumatel fibre. Once it works, it works.

Thats good to hear, that is why I like to ask on an open public forum as you say sometimes on those sites you only get the bad sides. Vumatel starting the planning phase in our area and was just keen to hear from Vuma users.

Coming from ADSL, its like night and day. The packages are also cheaper than the Openserve alternative.

To be honest, you'd be a fool to not subscribe. You will either pay the same or less than you do now and the speeds available are much, much higher. Please just get an ISP without restrictions or limits. Many of the new ones don't even bother checking your usage.

ISP's to NOT use: Mweb, Vox, Afrihost, Telkom.
