Is there any credentials for Vumatel that can be used to test the authentication onto their network? Similar to the Openserve test credentials.
Username: guest@openserve
Password: guest

I'd like to test the ONT that's in a friends rental property that it actually can connect to the network. Not just see that the PON and auth light are solid green.

Issue could be linked to this ...

Not relating to that issue. The ONT is working, connected and authenticated to Vuamtel's network as far as the lights go. I was looking for test credentials like the one's I've used on OpenServe listed above to check that the line is fully active. I've used the OpenServe one's a couple of times and it's a good indicator as to whether the line is really live or not as I'm dealing with an empty rental unit.

Edit: The client owns a few rental units and is wanting all the fibre lines checked that they work. That's why I was looking for guest credentials.

Vuma uses DHCP to connect, not PPPoE like Openserve

They use both DHCP and PPPoE.
It's just that for vuma and most of the other FNOs, switching pppoe details won't work as the ONT is provisioned for that specific ISP's vlan and a vlan change to a different ISP needs to be made or provisioned on the ONT before you can jump onto another ISP's network.

Among other things, Openserve just doesn't do vlan provisioning on an ONT level.

@tm458 is correct. My Vumatel connection from Tech5 is PPPoE and has been since 2015. Although the original cabling was installed by Link Africa up until 2017 when Vumatel took over the infrastructure. Wish they hadn't. We are fortunate enough to have OpenServe running through our neighbourhood as well but Vumatel' network here seams to be very reliable and hasn't gone down much in the years I've had it.
