Hi
I want to compare different ISP's single thread performance as I've noticed a slow down over the months, I think Vumatel have done something to rate limit single thread.

I got fibre in Feb, and noticed single thread to equal 80-90% of line speed, now it's around 40%.

Criteria:
Must test with LAN cable and state the type of cable (usually written on the cable)
State line speed
State geographic location
Do 1 test to speedtest.CO.ZA NOT .net!
Single thread only to London Coreix
Test 3 times

LAN: CAT 7
Line speed 100/10mb
Durban

Vumatel provides the last mile connection. How would they impact international transit. If you want to test your theory you can just as well do local single thread ?

local ping is 2ms, speedtest.co.za is single thread afaik, so I started my thread with a local single thread, international ping will have an effect.

This is mine on Websquad 1000/100 however I am on Vuma Aerial.

This is on WiFi 5ghz:

I quit my job last month and have had a lot of time to reflect and contemplate and have come to the conclusion that wifi is very very bad for ones health, so I've turned wifi off in the house. I can actually "feel" the difference, I feel calmer. You should see the scary stuff they are saying about 5G! Cell phones too.

Packet loss.... Goedkoop koop is duur koop.

Switch to a real fibre network. Openserve ;)

That would have to be old copper adsl in my case, and am not going back to that!

Fair enough.

On topic I highly doubt Vumatel is intentionally lower single thread performance. The issue is likely packetloss somwhere along the route.

I get full speed downloading through chrome so I'm ok now, there was an issue only giving me half speed hard limit. ISP sorted it, so wasn't Vuma, sorry Vuma.
