Vumatel as is known to all is the most expensive FNO in the country and now we find ourselves with an increase of R30.00 so that Vuma can pay up the massive loan they took out to lay fibre to outlaying areas and so we who only have Vuma as an option do not have competition to choose and get a cheaper FNO such as Openserve etc.
They seem to be looking for someone with deep pockets to save them but in the mean time the clients must own up or simply cancel fibre and go back to LTE and we know that is not much of an option as with load shedding the towers shut down due to no batteries or batteries that can not take the load.
So we just have to accept and carry on regardless

Yeah, they are eventually going to reach critical mass and will be forced to lower their prices..... Eventually

That or discontinue their sub 100mb core products

Yeah, and with Vuma as the only FNO in my area, I have no option but to use them or LTE which is not that good and expensive. They have to lower prices somehow in the near future, or most people will cancel when this becomes too expensive to use. I believe 50mbps will be the "entry level" fiber service in the future, as streaming services become more and more popular and they chew large amounts of data. Would love for Openserve to become a FNO in my area. Way cheaper than Vuma. We are being screwed over and over again...

You would be surprised, Vumatel is not the only one increasing their pricing. We just had to update our Lightstruck. Just hope others act differently like Metrofibre and lower it.

Now paying over R1000.00 pm for 100/100 through Vumatel... getting expensive!! Stuck with them until some other FNO comes along with better prices. Support and network quality with Vumatel is very good. Minimal downtime. People need fast, affordable and reliable internet - not prices going up like Multichoice does each year.

Yeah multichoice not so bad as they normally keep it minimal(although ppl don't like it) .. My isp increase was 11%..from R620 to R695

Yup, I dropped Multichoice a long time ago, better streaming choices on fiber - better make peace with fiber prices not dropping anytime soon, hope for no increases again. My ISP went up with R50.00 - not much, but in the long run in a year, it is R600.00 extra.
