Was supposed to get fibre installed later this afternoon.

Vumatel phoned to tell me the tech's car broke down, and re-scheduled a week out.

Pretty sad about this, strongs to Vumatel operating the entire operation with one technician.

UPDATE: Britelink, the subcontractor, just phoned to say they're sending a tech today, I'm guessing the owners saw the thread LMAO

Update 2: OK everyone is here and working and I bought the installers cokes, Vumatel also sent a chap now to install the fibre box, I'm in escalation heaven.

Moral Of The Story: You simply cannot have enough Nissan NP200s.

Update 3: They were here in town till after 12 last night trying to get it to work, some issues on the line or the modem, trying to identify, rocked up at 7 this morning to continue work. Props to Ivan (Britelink) Ray (Fibre guy) etc, these dudes grind hard.

They're putting in an inhuman coordinated amount of effort for just one end-user, I've seen massive critical enterprise incidents handled with less urgency and dedication, crazy.

Update 4: Forum DRAMA - The Afrihost rep is ghosting me even though I'm ordering through them, maybe he/she has something against Parys, who knows.

To be fair to Vumatel, this is Parys and a major logistical undertaking to reach, you can only reach it by helicopter or plane apparently.

I mean, people's vehicles just up and break down getting here!
