Anyone else getting unsolicited email from VuvuPlaza? Aside from several users on bidorbuy being spammed by them, I have just received unsolicited email to my Telkom ADSL email (which is only used on my router and nowhere else).

Reported to SpamCop, ISPA and Internet Solutions and since SPAM is one of my pet-hates, will look at pushing this forward via ECT (section 45).

FYI - reporting unsolicited spam is pretty seamless:
- Lodge a complaint with ISPA (http://ispa.org.za/code-of-conduct/complaints-form/) - they are supposed to respond within 5 business days
- Report it on SpamCop (http://www.spamcop.net/)

Highly annoying.

I would say you did the right thing. IS should email them a warning and if they continue to get reports of this suspend their servers.

Have you asked WA to block them on the FW's

Have you asked WA to block them on the FW's

The blocking is not the issue. The issue is that many companies harvest emails. Spamming a Telkom ADSL account is easy, as it is just a numeric number you increment. VuvuPlaza has a long history of ignoring CAN-SPAM and ECT - https://twitter.com/stoan/status/129452872101400576

And they have no clue how they got them - now waiting for ISPA:
Your address has been removed.

We have investigated the matter but are unable to determine the source as we have numerous portals that are attached to VuvuPlaza.

However we do take your matter seriously and are making sure we adjust our processes along the lines you have indicated. We do from time to time communicate with our customer base in a way that allows them to confirm their participation in ongoing communication.

We can see that this has not met your requirements and apologise for inconvenience caused.
