Agreed. but how on earth do you manage to miss and crap on the floor next to the toilet? It's hard to miss your aim when you're shooting from point blank.
Alcohol induces Inaccurate Aim Syndrome (IAS).

There has always and will always be "noise" at soccer games. In England they have "noisy" songs about gays and the people who died in the Munich air disaster. IN Spain they have those "noisy" drums and "dangerous" firecrackers. This is football guys, not golf or tennis. I can see now why Ster Kenikor thought that watching football matches at the cinema would be a good dea. You guys will probably enjoy that.

Asking soccer fans to take away vuvuzela's whould be like asking Liverpool fans not to sing You'll never walk alone.

Don't forget the songs about the murderers at Hillsborough and Heysel.

Your last sentence....not comparable at all.

Backfire? Faulty barrel? Tailgunner not communicating properly with the pilot? All possible when Alcohol mixes with stupidity.

i hate it! it sounds so crap i don't know how the people in the stadium sit there for 2 hours and don't end up leaving there deaf!

I think it is. I used to visit a Liverpool forum(TIA) quite often and the regular supporters also had problems with people complaining about the noisy fans who whould always stand up and sing songs. I think it even lead to a group being started to get the atmosphere back at Anfield.(Reclaim the Kop)

Attending football games is not for the faint hearted. There will always be noise . It adds to the atmosphere.

Are you guys referring to that excuse for trumpets...bloody annoying, had to put the sound off....show them a video of the West Indies spectators so that they can learn what is upbeat.

No wonder Bafana bafana play's so crap...they probably want to limit the noise.

As far as I can tell there will always be those that like the thing and those that don't.
Those that are hating on it can just stay at home and watch the Home Channel:D
The vuvuzela is part of local stadium culture. Deal with it or change the channel.
I seldom attend soccer matches but not because of the vuvuzelas. I just can't stand the "puff and pass" that goes on non stop in the stands.

Yeah I wonder if that stadium culture has been brought to FIFA's attention yet :D

Can you elaborate on this please? As has been posted, apparently it has buggerall to do with local football. I played local football for many years and never once encountered a vuvuzela - it's a recent introduction to our local game...so I'm baffled every time someone states it is a part of our culture or heritage. No, it aint. It's a piece of plastic that makes a monotonous noise, and was originally intended to be sold to 10 year olds to piss of their parents...

who gives a **** this is ridiculous, if a stadium filled with people are not annoyed with it then clearly it's not killing people.

It's not like play was stopped because of a vuvuzela

I said culture not tradition. There's a difference you know.
I also grew up listening to Jive and Disco music but now there's a culture of hip-hop and kwaito music, get the picture?

Both words imply a history. My question still stands...

I don't think culture properly defines this. It is not a belief inherent to a particular people, neither is it symbolic of a period.

In fact, I would like to digress a bit here. Arguably, when someone states that is is part of our "culture", they are invariably defining themselves as representatives of that culture without actually defining who they are. I.e. they are trying to say that as it is a cultural belief or state, that it should be accepted globally without any question. Think I'm wrong? Jacob Zuma used this as the basis for his defence in his rape trial. He said that according to Zulu culture, it would have been considered rape had he not had sex with that woman. Nobody (of importance) seemed to challenge that - why? Because he is a Zulu leader who qualified his actions by pinning it to cultural beliefs. Unfortunately it is an easy way out to use it as a defense. The tiny little problem with it though: it doesn't actually mean a thing.

It's very simple, just don't allow any V's into the stadium. The odd supporter will probably complain but they'll soon get over it and find other more inventive and less annoying ways of showing their support.

Well said. :D

you're underestimating vuvuzela supporters there.

"And I said to myself, I know as we grew up in the Zulu culture you don't leave a woman in that situation because if you do then she will even have you arrested and say that you are a rapist." - Zuma :)

I don't think being arrested, charged for rape, for not sleeping with a h*rny lady in Kanga is part of the Zulu Culture.....But hey, when you are in court, you'd say anything to defend yourself.

Sure, but the stadium organisers don't see the problem as a problem. They will arrive at a million other conclusions regarding the lack of attendance at the stadiums before finally clicking.

Part of the problem is that too many people will not speak their minds, while those that will are not asked.

LOL. I sound like a soothsayer.

Aqua_Lung - the stadiums are soooo full that FIFA are giving away tickets. i.e. the tickets are now free for most games - just to gets seats on bums.
