howzit guys

on the weekend i was driving my car and then it just cut off and would not start . it swings but just that and like doesnt go on

i had not driven it for about 3 days before that and when i started it; it started perfect with no problems , idle was fine and then i drove ....all of a sudden just started revving up with a stutter as i gave petrol and then cut off ...

checked the spark plus and cables and that seems fine ...removed the fuel cord as well and fuel is coming through

has someone experienced this and what was the fault

I had a similar problem with my Jetta, and it was bloody difficult to find as it was totally intermittent. Eventually they found a loose connection in the main wiring harness.

Quite frankly, it could be anything.

i was thinking the same thing that its could be that cos i went over a speedbump and not at speed cos was a busy intersection

but i checked everything that could be physical

and now i towed it home and dont know how to get it to a auto electrician

did you manage to sort it out tho

mechanic managed to check up and says cos the car stood for few days the fuel dried out or something and that caused an overflow and a blown spark plug ...so was just the spark plugs that needed to be changed so managed to do that

:wtf: NEVER heard of something like that!!!!!!!! Your car is fuel injected, so we aren't even talking a dried out fuel bowl here. I personally think that he's talking bollocks, but hopefully he has fixed it! :D

and last i drove it was 3 days ago ...i was on the phone with him and thats what i heard ....so will ask him nicely again and give an update

but he is some family guy and he fixed it lol so weather he talking bolloks me dont mind

and i dont understadn how cos i drove it 3 days before that and drove it about 2km before it switched off ....and the week before that the car stood for a week

clown :p

but i think you being spun :p

and you said you checked the plugs

i checked the bogey cords (plugs) not the spark plugs ....

and those were firing ...so did not check spark plugs

i had the problem before on my old golf and i changed spark plugs and bogey cords and it turned out to be cambelt timing and this time it wont even start so couldnt even check cambelt or anything
