Just wondering as I'm looking to buy a 7R , but I can wait 2 years if the new shape is really launching in 2018.

Can anyone here shed some light on this ?

If you are willing to wait 2 years for the MK8, why not wait 5 years for the MK9?
 
I probably wouldn't manage waiting two years and don't think it's worth the wait. The 7 is still quite recent and I don't see it being much worse than its replacement whenever it's launched.

Yip good point.

Looking back, the V to VI were very very minor changes. VI to VII was major , so perhaps VII to VIII could also be minor.

Also, will you be able to afford it in 2 years time? The way that car prices are going.
 
The other thing to consider is that you can get a demo R now, if you'd consider that... When the MK8 is released, you'll have to wait a few months more

I own many cars ... not missing out on anything (besides the 7R if I don't buy it now) .
 
I see a lot of farktards ( hint hint Tman / buyeye ) have come out to play.

I didn't ask for all the snotkop opinions on when to buy the car. I asked about any info on when the new MK8 will be launched.

Some proper sound advice man: G8 to be launched in 2018 then is few months ago to see for it to hit SA.

That's overall G8 range. You then wait for GTI announcement & local availability.

You then wait for R announcement & local availability.

My 2c is take the lovely 7R
 
There is nothing unusual about their posts though. This is the internet in its natural form.

You see the exact same posts when someone asks about a new phone. Mr many cars you are in the wrong or as they say on the interwebz. You were left they were right.
