If the current R32 version is going for R404k, this will surely go for around R450k....for a Golf!
Prices from VW website:I sincerely doubt that it will cost 450k. Maybe 40k more than the GTI.
Prices from VW website:
GTi - R297,900.00
GTi (DSG) - R312,400.00
R32 (DSG 186kw) - R404,000.00
The R32 is R100k more than a GTi...how the heck could the R20T come in at R340k?
297k is still standard, add metallic paint, registration, sunroof xenons and 18s you already paying 350!!! ANd face it, a Mk5 without those extras is just a waste imo!
Because it's a regular GTi motor that's been pimped not a completely new motor.
+1You forgot the fact that it will most like include the drivetrain from the R32 which will add a lot on the price as it will most likely be AWD as well...

Engine aside, VW will need to include some uprated parts on the existing platform to cope with the 200-odd KW power figure. There is no way in my mind that this new Golf will cost anything less than the R32 model.
Maybe Ill just pay 400 for this!!!
