VW Golf R20T

If the current R32 version is going for R404k, this will surely go for around R450k....for a Golf!

Nice

Lol at the comments from the wheels24 idiots... such ignorant people lol!!!
I wish VW just twin turbo charged the 3.2V6!!:D

Another thing thats so stupid is that this engine been upgrade million times before, I posted a Special edition Seat Cupra only available in Holland, uses the same engine but pushing 234kw....

for that price you could get a great 2nd hand e46 m3 and save R100.000 or 135i.. i would never pay that for a golf couse at the end of the day it's a golf..

I sincerely doubt that it will cost 450k. Maybe 40k more than the GTI.
Prices from VW website:
GTi - R297,900.00
GTi (DSG) - R312,400.00
R32 (DSG 186kw) - R404,000.00

The R32 is R100k more than a GTi...how the heck could the R20T come in at R340k?

I think the GTi's might have another price hike as soon as the Mk VI is here... then the GTi will probalby cost around R330k - R340k add another R50k - R100k ontop of that for the R20T you are looking easily close to or over R390k - R440k for it.

297k is still standard, add metallic paint, registration, sunroof xenons and 18s you already paying 350!!! ANd face it, a Mk5 without those extras is just a waste imo!

Because it's a regular GTi motor that's been pimped not a completely new motor.

 I'm shocked... didn't think I'd hear this from you :p

I would only add metallic paint, xenons and the 18's

You forgot the fact that it will most like include the drivetrain from the R32 which will add a lot on the price as it will most likely be AWD as well...

+1

Engine aside, VW will need to include some uprated parts on the existing platform to cope with the 200-odd KW power figure. There is no way in my mind that this new Golf will cost anything less than the R32 model.

So add it up....

New R line seats, New R rimz, R line bits everywhere (suspension, exhaust Its 8500 for the exhaust alone etc), engine upgrade, drivetrain, brakes, R line steering thats the best steering ever!!! and its R3500 I found out.

Thats like R100k dealer prices.... right? I think R390 should be about right...

Maybe Ill just pay 400 for this!!!:o

The Audi TTS has got the same 200Kw engine.
Nothing new from VW/Audi but reliable power in all shapes and colours
