1. Forget about EV's altogether;
2. Rather build he Up! locally for RHD markets for a start;
3. Build the Saveiro locally for RHD markets;

FTR: At one stage (Late 70's) VWSA had 4 production lines, producing 4 different models, eg: Golf,
Kombi, Passat, Audi. It is entirely possible to do so again.

As we are already manufacturing Polo's, the most obvious model to roll out would be the Saveiro (and become the sole producer of a ½-ton bakkie in SA), none of this SUV crap!

its all about the Benjamins, cheaper to produce in Brazil or somewhere else that isnt SA with its business unfriendly markets.
 
Seems they are really hell bent on improvement. Tata will be a great step up in quality, or.....?

The Indians are. They are adopting global safety standards as the Indian consumer market matures and demands higher quality. Safety features have become a critical part of how car makers market their cars in India now.

The Mahindra XUV300 was the first Indian car to attain a 5-star Global NCAP rating.

Nope - the Tata Nexon was the first made in India vehicle to receive a 5-star Global NCAP safety rating WAY back in 2018 already.

This result is valid for all Nexon units produced as from December 7th, 2018 (from VIN MAT627165JLP51255)... ;)

I stand corrected.

For some reason I cannot access the Global NCP website, but I can glean the headline - The XUV300 was the second to achieve 5-stars but holds the highest combined score (for an Indian-manufactured vehilce) because it rated 4 stars on child safety.
