Ladies and Gents,

I currently own a VW Polo 1.6 Tiptronic with 64000 km on the clock (2010 Model - Current shape). I recently started experiencing some trouble regarding the gearbox. Whenever i drive the car, as the gears shift up, i experience a "kick" when shifting between gears. It usually happens during the transition between gear 2 and 3, and gear 3 and 4. Furthermore, the other day my car got stuck in gear 3 while driving. I switched the transmission mode to manual and tried to manually shift down the gears, however this did not make a difference.

I took my car to VW in Sandton and was told that they do not repair tiptronic gearboxes as they outsource this kind of work. To order and install a new gearbox I was quoted R65000!! (which i don't have).

My car is out of warranty and motor-plan, hence i am open to taking it to a reputable mechanic/workshop to get a diagnostic on the gearbox.

Has any one experienced any similar problems with their automatic gearboxes? All suggestions/solutions are welcome :)
